Building a DIY CNC Mill
The goal of this project is to design and build a CNC mill without turning any parts. Typically, milling requires a much larger mill to ensure smooth, parallel spindle surfaces.
Using aluminum tool plates (which are theoretically smooth to machine) and bolting key parts instead of welding should reduce the workload on the machine. Ultimately, I'm building a mill because I don't have any!
The linear rails and ball screws are cheap Chinese 20mm rails, which you can find on eBay and elsewhere.
