This time, we're building the Z axis and attaching it to the column. I'm probably going to regret saying this, but I hope this concludes most of the locating, drilling, and tapping of the holes.

Building a DIY CNC Mill
The purpose of this project is to design and build a CNC mill without turning any parts. Typically, milling requires a much larger mill to ensure smooth, parallel axis surfaces.
Using aluminum tool plates (which are theoretically machined smooth) and fastening key parts with bolts instead of welding should avoid the need for turning, as we're building a mill because we don't have one!
The linear rails and ball screws are cheap 20mm Chinese screws available on eBay and elsewhere.
