Make a 3d printable copy of your favorite sneakers

iwillspy13 has made an Instructables tutorial on how to make 3d model of your favorite sneakers and 3d printe them in flexible filament. It is not a full copy but a copy of a inside that fits your feet.
Those shoes are probably not usable as the material will probably fall apart when used but it it an interesting project.
We need better materials for DIY shoes :-)

High 3d printed fashion projects by Lilah LaValle and Airwolf3D

3d printed fashion is really emerging as one cool new area for artistic expression. I recently found this two nice works of arts (and 3d printing crafts). One is more industrial-art and second is more of a DIY-fashion project.

First piece is a fully 3d printed Red Corset designed by German artist Lilah LaValle in collaboration with her boyfriend Daniel Sirkett and it is printed by Shapeways in SLS Nylon. Since it is a larger and more complex piece the high-end SLS process was required sou you probably will not print this soon in your home.

And here is a Sandy "the materials girl" from Airwolf 3D showing all the clothing, jewelry and accessories you can already 3d print at home from various commonly available DIY materials!

The A.X.I.O.S. (Advanced Xtreem Integrated Operating Scales) dress designed by Cameron Williams is printed from hexagonal plates in ABS / TPU / TPE. Very cool!




3D Weaver loom makes woven structures from cotton, wool, paper and silicone





3D Weaver is weaving machine that layers natural fibers including cotton, wool, paper, and then binds them with silicone to maintain the structure, material / spatial properties in three dimensions. It is basically 3d loom with advanced yarn materials fed through two tubes and wrapped around a grid of vertical poles. Woven 3d structures can be used for many purposes ranging from shoe soles to custom high level packaging.

It was developed and constructed by Nigerian American designer Oluwaseyi Sosanya for his The Structure of Protection graduate project. He has a patent pending on this technology.

Sneakerbots shoes printed in highly flexible Filaflex by Recreus

They look good, but probably wont' survive much walking  ...

The new sneakers by Recreus printed in Filaflex 1.75mm.
During months we have investigated and work hard to develop the 1.75 mm filaflex format. Sneakerbots are the actual proof that shows filaflex works becoming in the most elastic filament on the market.
The sneakerbots by Ignacio Garcia are inspired by 80s films such us back to the future, starwars, short circuit etc.
Should be noted that the new design is more comfortables than first one. You can vary the softness changing the percentage of infill. The tongue makes that laces don´t hurt foot.
