Building a DIY CNC Milling Machine
The purpose of this project is to design and build a CNC milling machine without turning any parts. Typically, building a mill requires a much larger mill to ensure smooth, parallel spindle surfaces.
Using an aluminum tool plate (which is theoretically smooth to machine) and fastening key parts with bolts instead of welding should avoid turning. Ultimately, I'm building a milling machine because I don't have one!
The linear rails and ball screws are cheap Chinese 20mm rails available on eBay and other places.
