Building a DIY CNC Mill
The purpose of this project is to design and build a CNC mill without turning any parts. Typically, building a mill requires a much larger mill to ensure smooth, parallel axis surfaces.
Using aluminum tool plates (which are theoretically machined smooth) and fastening key parts with bolts instead of welding should avoid the need for machining. Ultimately, we're building a mill because we don't have one!
The linear rails and ball screws are cheap Chinese 20mm rails available on eBay and elsewhere.
