For tomb stone or other stone plate, why some position just touched by cnc router cutter, well some positions on stone are deeper engraved by cnc rotuer? This is related with the cnc router finding a blancing point on stone.
Before dispatching cnc wood router, manufacturers of cnc router will make working table even by cnc router milling cutter,so this is not the problem of cnc router table. Well, tomb stone or other stone must not so even, so if we make tool setting at left point, which is the highest point. This will cause some other position may can not be engraved. If this point is the lowest one, then may other position wil be keeper.
For avoding this problem, we suggest setting processing origin xy and z seperately. Still set xy at left down point of material, well, make z at the center of material, in this way, the whole engraving depth may is similar. If there is a big difference for different position material thickness, OMNI suggest make cnc router tool path to upper down two parts or upper, middle and down three parts. Or you use cnc router to measure the four edge point of material, according to X axis value to see which position is high, and which position is lower, then make some stuff under the material to keep the whole material even at most.

With the laser cutting machine with more applications, more people choose laser cutting machine to engrave and cut MDF because it is with higher precision. Laser cutting machine can engrave and cut MDF both. Comparing with traditional cnc wood router cutter, laser cutting machine is with lower speed than cnc wood router, but its cutting edge is very simply handled. A CNC tool can be used in many ways for prototyping, reverse engineering and modeling.  As a rapid-prototyping tool, a OMNI can machine foam, wood, plastics and aluminum to efficiently create prototype and reproduction parts.  With a CNC tool, you will typically be doing subtractive prototyping, but it is a process that lets you machine quickly in materials that are similar to the end product.  Large projects can also be done using additive layering techniques that allow substantial models to be constructed even beyond the machinable area of the CNC.
The sheer versatility of a CNC wood router in a prototyping setting is nothing short of astounding.  With a good CAD/CAM package and a CNC router, it is possible to create master models with the proper draft for secondary operations such as casting, vacuum forming, sheet metal stamping and FRP composite construction.  These types of models are typically 2.5D, meaning that they don’t have undercuts and can be completely machined on a 3-axis CNC on one side of the material.  In addition, advances in affordable hardware and software now give you the ability to cut double-sided parts using 3 axes and carve true 3D parts on a machine equipped with a 4th axis, rotary indexer.  The indexer can be used as a lathe to cut simple profiled turnings or elaborate 3D parts and relief carvings, giving many of the advantages of a 5-axis tool at a fraction of the cost.
Mold Making
Aside from playing a key role in subtractive methods of creating models, the CNC is also instrumental in preparing molds for creating parts.  Thermoset plastic parts can be created in conjunction with a rotational molding machine.  Masters can be created on the CNC, molded and setup to produce thin-walled and hollow models not possible using a subtractive strategy. A CNC router coupled with the proper mold making equipment is a potent combination spanning many industries and applications.
Reverse Engineering Processes
While CNC wood routers excel at producing accurate parts with speed and efficiency, they also excel when it comes to reverse engineering an existing 2D or 3D part.  The digital version of the part can then be toolpathed to produce an exact duplicate, or transformed into an updated version by modifying the scale or geometry to create the required part. Using the optional rotary indexer, odd-shaped and cylindrical 2D & 3D parts can be digitized a full 360° with the same straight-forward method as a standard 3-axis tool equipped with a probe.

Use CNC Wood Router For Mold Production


Dianel Dean and Ryan use cnc wood router to produce a mold for their project " Underground Sound".  Their project is with some giant flowers, which allow people to hear the sound from earth via megaphones.

The mold for the megaphone was designed in Rhino and imported into Enroute software as an .STL. They created all the toolpathing in EnRoute. The form was cut in pieces on the 
CNC router mold using a 1/2" wide by 3.5" tall ball nose bit.  Daniel glued together panel board to be 3.5" deep and divided the megaphone up into various sections. Once cut, the sections were glued together to create the final form, which was then used as a mold for the fiberglass.

 After installed Type3 software, you will find a shortcut icon in your computer’s desktop as         . But if you double click it, you will get this message 
 
 It is because you haven’t install the dongle and it’s driver.
 Then you should plug in the USB dongle in your computer and install the driver program of the dongle. If you didn’t do these, you will get this message after you double click Type3 shortcut.
 
1. Go to the folder that you installed TypeEdit2003plus, C:\TypeEdit2003PLUS as a example. Get in the folder named Key. Also you can find this folder in this CD’s root directory.
 
   You will find these programs in the Key folder. Drop the ini.dll on the REGSVR32.exe as below

Learning how to hand engrave with a router can be very rewarding. Freehand engraving yields results that last forever. All you need is a small hand router. Draw your pattern on a piece of wood and establish your lines. Follow them with a router and a small engraving bit. Because you don't use guides to follow your patterns, it gives your engravings a custom, hand carved look. It's easy, fun and it's even safer than engraving with a knife. A popular grape-leaf pattern is traditional and easy to find, and is a good place to start.
Things You'll Need
Small hand router, 1/4-inch capacity
Router bit, 1/4-inch flute
2 wrenches that came with router
Pencil
Pattern
Pine, 6-by-24-by-3/4-inch
Grape leaf pattern
Scissors
2 hand clamps, 12-inch
1Download a grape leaf pattern of your choice and print it out. Cut out the pattern with scissors.
2Trace the pattern onto the pine. Clamp the pine to the edge of a worktable.

3Insert the flute bit into the router and tighten the retaining nut using the wrenches. Loosen the depth of cut adjustment on the side of the router and slide the router base so that 1/4 inch of the bit extends out the bottom of the router base. Tighten the depth of cut knob.
4Plug in the router. Hold the router base in both hands, position it over the pine. Reach up with your thumb and turn the cnc wood router on.
5Position the tip of the bit over the pencil lines and lower the bit into the wood. Let the sides of your palms on both hands rest on the wood as you hold the router between your hands.
6Begin following the lines, like you would with a large pen sliding the router along slowly as you trace over the pencil lines, letting the bit cut the design with the tip of the bit. Trace the entire design.
Tips & Warnings
Test the depth of your cut on a piece of scrap wood, or the back of your piece of pine before starting to engrave. When finished engraving, use a small piece of folded sandpaper to remove any feathered edges of the engraving lines.
Always wear safety glasses when working with wood. Make sure your router is turned off when you plug it in.
