Building a DIY CNC Mill
The goal of this project is to design and build a CNC mill without turning any parts. Typically, a mill requires a much larger mill to ensure smooth, parallel spindle surfaces.
Using an aluminum tool plate (which is theoretically smooth to machine) and fastening key parts with bolts instead of welding should avoid turning. Ultimately, I'm building a mill because I don't have one!
The linear rails and ball screws are cheap Chinese 20mm rails available on eBay and elsewhere.
