Here is probably one the first appearance of a 3d printer in mainstream cinematography. It was in a movie named "Small Soldiers" from 1998. My kid brother really liked that one.
They show an early stereolitography machine, the model looks realistic when it comes out of the resin tank, but the process was made to look faster and with visible lasers.
