In this video, I'll explain some of the changes I've made to the CAD model of the machine design. Then, I'll weld the Z-pillars and add side plates. Finally, I'll build a scrap tray for the machine, which will serve as the bottom half of the machine. This will allow the machine to use flood coolant at some point.

Building a DIY CNC Mill
The goal of this project is to design and build a CNC mill without turning any parts. Typically, milling requires a much larger mill to ensure smooth, parallel spindle surfaces.
Using aluminum tool plates (which are theoretically machined smooth) and bolting key components instead of welding should reduce the workload on the machine, as the mill is being built without one!
The linear rails and ball screws are cheap Chinese 20mm rails, which you can find on eBay and elsewhere.
